November 2nd Sermon “Anger Management”
One of the biggest emotions in our lives that steal our joy is anger. It not only affects us emotionally, but many times it affects our health as well. How do we overcome anger and forget the offenses of those that have wronged us? In this message, we’ll discover some simple truths about anger and how to deal with it in our lives.

This Sunday we begin a new series entitled “Getting Well”. I have to admit that as I look ahead into this series, It’s definitely for me. I think if we where all really honest, we all at times deal with the issues that we will be covering in this series. This Sunday’s message is about anger. Our music focuses around simply worshiping God for who He is. Our God is able to help us overcome any issue we face. Let’s worship Him together as we sing songs of praise.
We begin with “Revive Us Again” which actually sets the tone for the day. I believe all of us could use a revival, and I’m not talking about a series of services through the week. Can you make this song your prayer this week? That God would revive you, and help you to serve Him better? You can check out the lyrics by clicking the song in the chart above.
“Jesus Messiah” is a new song that you have probably heard playing on the radio lately. It’s an awesome song of worship that simply proclaims who Jesus is. Check out a video of this song by clicking the link in the chart above.
“There Is None Like You” is a simple song that continues our theme of worship. We just finished singing about our God being Lord of All, and now we are stating the fact that there is no one like our God. From there we go on to the song “Everlasting God” which once again continues the theme of worshiping God for who He is. You can check these songs out by clicking the links in the chart above.
“All Because of Jesus” is a very familiar song to us here at Oasis. This song proclaims that our lives are only what they are because of Jesus. To Him be all the glory, and honor, and praise, because without Him we are nothing. Check out this song by clicking the link in the chart above.
“We finish up with a song that we often use during invitation, “Change My Heart Oh God”. Through this song we are simply asking God to make us more like Him. It’s a song of surrender as we sing, “You are the potter and I am the clay. Mold me and make me”. This song finishes pretty much the way we started; our need for revival. Please be in prayer with me as we seek to honor our God the best way we can. Thanks for taking time to get better prepared to worship together on Sunday.

October 26th Sermon “Living To Bless”
No matter where we are financially, if we honestly looked at our budgets and lifestyle, we could do more in our giving to God and others. In this message we will realize that it’s not the amount that is important to God, but it’s our faithfulness to give what He asks.

I’m having computer problems today, so I’ll be brief. We finish up our series “Common Cents” this week. I truly believe that if we put into practice what we have learned through this series, we would truly start to see a revival in our lives, and in our church. In reality, this series has not been about money so much as it has been about our relationship to God. I know I have sore toes. OUCH!
This week our message is about “Living To Bless”. Our music today begins with a theme of worship and praise to our God who has blessed us in so many ways. We finish up with songs that deal with what we plan to do to worship our Savior. Take time to listen to the songs by clicking the links in the chart above. I really look forward to worshiping with you all this Sunday.

October 19th Sermon “Living With Less”
Sometimes having less is a wonderful gift from God. That is the lesson we learn from the destitute woman in II Kings 4:1-7. One day Elisha meets a woman with nothing. No husband, no income, no food, and no prospects for help. The prophet tells her to gather what little food she has and she returns with only one jar of oil and several empty jars from her neighbors. She begins to pour her oil into the empty jars and keeps pouring until they are full. Only then does the first jar run out. It is interesting that the woman only gets as much oil as she has empty jars. There is something about being empty and not having anything that moves the hand of God. Often, we will see God the most clearly when we cannot find the answers within ourselves. He will sometimes place us in empty seasons of life the so that we are dependant on him. In this message, we will learn some valuable lessons that we learn from the empty seasons of life.

This week Bro. Todd will be talking about “Living With Less”. Probably everyone who is reading this has gone through a time of need in their life. We don’t have a lot of music scheduled for this worship service, but the songs we do have are focusing on our need for God over everything else.
“Speak to My Heart” is a prayer asking God to do just that, speak. I chose this song for this service, because of the chorus. “You give me life and breath it flows from Your hands. You give me peace in my heart that I can’t understand. Lord You rescued my life from a debt I could never repay.” Even in our times of need, we should be reminded that God has truly given us so much. He has also promised to provide for our needs which leads to that peace in our hearts beyond all understanding. You can listen to a rough version of this song by clicking the link in the chart above.
“I Need Thee Every Hour” is a traditional hymn written by Annie Hawks. She wrote the verses at the age of 37 in 1872 while doing her housework. That day she felt a great sense of nearness to her God. She began to wonder how anyone could ever live without Him either in joy or pain. She sat down and wrote the words to the verses that where later put to music and widely distributed among churches. 16 years after writing the lyrics her husband passed away, and it was then that she realized the true power in the lyrics. Mrs. Hawk wrote, “I did not understand at first why this hymn had touched the great throbbing heart of humanity. It was not until long years after, when the shadow fell over my way, the shadow of a great loss, that I understood something of the comforting power in the words, which I had been permitted to give out to others in my hour of sweet serenity and peace.”
Our final song of the day is “All We Need” which I have talked about on this blog before. We love to sing the faster paced songs on Sundays, but I feel we often overlook the true meaning. This song is a declaration that our only need is our God. No matter what our situation, we should look to our God as our provider. Take time to listen to this song by clicking the link in the chart above.
I’m really looking forward to worshiping with you all Sunday. Take time to prepare your heart for a great time of worship.

October 12th Sermon “Living With Excess”
The purpose of saving money is to set it aside for the future. But what exactly are we saving for? Many save for college education, vacations, remodeling projects, or retirement. Meanwhile others save out of greed and fear. Today discover how to quit saving without plan, but for a purpose.

This week we will be learning how to live with excess. Most of us would probably say that we don’t have any excess, but if you really think about the many blessings God has given, it would be hard to deny that we have more than we need. Our music today will focus on thanking God for the blessings he has given, and celebrating his faithfulness in providing for our needs.
We begin this week with “Exalted Forever” which is a song we have done before at Oasis. This happens to be one of the few songs that I can’t find a clip of anywhere on the internet. It comes from Psalm 92, so check out verses 1-8 if you get a chance. I have attached a link to the lyrics of the song. This is a song of celebration, and states that we want to sing the praises of our God forever.
“Forever” continues our theme of celebration. This song is a celebration of our God’s faithfulness, and the fact that He will never change. You can listen to this song by clicking the link in the chart above.
“All Because of Jesus” is a song that I think really sums up our testimony as a Christian. If not for Christ, our life would not even be worth living. Let’s celebrate together as we proclaim this loudly on Sunday. Take a listen to the song by clicking the link in the chart above.
The song “Everything” really puts things into perspective for me. Everything that we have comes from our Father in Heaven. It all belongs to Him, so therefore what I consider to be MY excess, is not really mine to begin with. Check out this song by clicking the link in the chart above.
We finish up the music portion of the service with “Blessed Be Your Name” which is a song of worship stating our intent to worship God whether it is a good time or bad time in our life. We tend to cry out to God and ask for His help when we are in need. In contrast, when things are going well in our lives, we tend to forget God altogether. Let this song be a reminder to praise God no matter what life has thrown at us. Check out the song by clicking the link in the chart above.
Thanks for taking time to see what is going on this Sunday at Oasis. We had a great time at our Large Group fellowship last night. If you where not able to attend Sunday night’s group, take time to gather with other members on Wednesday night for a time of fellowship. The food and fellowship was great, but it was also really cool to be able to hear the stories of the Guatemala Mission trip on video. A special thanks to Kevin Robinson for all the editing work he put into these videos. They really turned out great. See you on Sunday!
