I hope you all had a great Christmas. I definately missed being at Oasis this past Sunday, but am looking forward to worshiping with you all again this Sunday. Our sermon this week deals with the purpose of our journey, and that is to reach others.
We are opening up this week with a new song to Oasis by Lincoln Brewster entitled “Today is the Day”. To me, it’s a great song to kick off the new year. The verse says, “I’m casting my cares aside, I’m leaving my past behind, I’m setting my heart and mind on You Jesus“. Be sure to listen to this song by clicking the title in the chart above.
“Everyday” goes well with our theme, because it talks about being consistent, and living our lives for Christ every day that we live. You can listen to this song by clicking the title in the chart above as well.
We will finish up the music portion of the service with the hymn “Jesus Saves”, and the song “Shine” by Matt Redman. These two songs really focus on our theme for the day, which is evangelism.
Thanks for taking time to see what will be happening Sunday at Oasis. I’m really looking forward to worshiping with you all on Sunday.
Bro. Doug

Sunday, December 28th Sermon “Enjoying the Journey”
What a great service we had today. Thanks for singing out, and worshipping together as we celebrated our Savior. I am actually in Missouri right now for Christmas. Cindy, Saigel, and I will be away from Oasis this Sunday, but I’m leaving you in good hands. John & Christina Anderson will be leading the music portion of the service this Sunday, so come ready for a great time of worship. I’ll look forward to worshiping with you all again January 4th.
Doug

In case you had not noticed, Christmas is almost here! Our service this week has somewhat of a “Christmassy” flair to it as Bro. Todd will be talking about “Exchanging Gifts”.
Most of the Christmas songs we are doing are traditional hymns that you are more than likely familiar with. There are a few exceptions this week. We will open up with a song called “No Sweeter Name” which would not technically be classified as a Christmas song. This song celebrates the name of Jesus, which to me seems more than appropriate for a Christmas service.
“I’ll Give My All” I think also goes well with our theme as we will be talking about the gifts we have to offer Christ and others.
“Let Us Adore” is a song that I like to flow together with “O Come All Ye Faithful”. The theme is basically the same; adoration for Christ, which once again is so appropriate for a service around Christmas time.
We’ll finish up with a song that is so familiar to us at Oasis that you’re probably sick of it (well I hope not at least) Once again we are celebrating our Savior, and remembering that He came for each and every one of us. So often around Christmas time we get so caught up in the event of Jesus coming, that we forget the reason WHY He came. Let’s make a point this year to share that reason with someone we come in contact over the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for taking time to check out our blog, and investing time to prepare yourself better for worship on Sunday. I look forward to seeing you all Sunday.
Bro. Doug

December 14th Sermon “Traveling With the Right People”
Someone once said, “if you are not already, you are soon to become like the people you travel with.” The people we choose to be with on a weekly basis have the potential of shaping our lives. Today, we will see the importance of fellowshipping with other believers as we make our journey through life.

This week I’ll be using two guys who have been working together to lead worship for our Student Ministry on Wednesday nights. Josh Pickard & Jake Bynum will both be on acoustic for our services Sunday as we sing praises to our God. Those who attended the early service have seen Jake before as he has played with us a few times, but this will be Josh’s first Sunday playing with the worship team. They have been doing an awesome job on Wednesday nights, and I’m excited to have them as part of our Worship Team on Sunday mornings
We are continuing our series on the Believer’s Journey. This week the focus of our sermon is Fellowship. Our music this week is simply a time of worship and inviting our Great God to join us as we honor Him. Take time to listen to the songs by clicking the titles in the chart above. I’ll look forward to seeing you all Sunday for our time of worship together.

December 7th Sermon “Understanding the Journey”
When a person surrenders their life to follow Jesus, there are definitely some new principles for living that must be understood. How does God teach us what we need to know as we make the journey as a believer? Today, we will discover how to receive instructions for our journey.

What an awesome time of worship we had yesterday at Oasis. It was so great to worship together in one service with everyone yesterday, and I’m really looking forward to our times in the future. This week we will be continuing our series “The Believer’s Journey”. Our music this week is a celebration of who Christ is. We will be introducing our Worship Choir for the first time in our services, as well as having our full band back. Take time to check out the links to the music in the chart above to better prepare yourself for our time of worship together. Be sure to spread the word about our blog so that others can prepare themselves ahead of time for what will be happening here on Sunday. I really look forward to worshiping with you all on Sunday.
Bro. Doug
