dont-travel-aloneFebruary 1st  Sermon “He Gives Us Courage”

Following God can at times be a frightening experience. At times, we are called out of our comfort zones, and asked to experience the unknown. Fear is a natural response to any challenge in life, but Today, we will see how God gives us courage when we need to move forward.

You’re always afraid after having a big day like Friend Day that the next week would be somewhat of a let down.  If anything, I believe our time of worship together this week was even more exciting than the week before.  This week we continue our series “Don’t Travel Alone”.  This week Bro. Todd speaking on the topic, “He Leads Us”.  I know I’m thankful for that.  Thanks for taking the time to check out what is going to be happening on Sunday.  I’ll look forward to worshiping with you all on Sunday.

dont-travel-aloneJanuary 18th   Sermon “He Makes Us Content”

Someone once said, “If we suddenly lost everything and everyone in our lives and got them all back the next day, just think how happy we would be.”  Learning to be content is one of the most difficult lessons in life. Today, we will discover from Psalm 23 how the Lord can bring contentment in our lives.

All I can say is Wow!  Friend Day was truly amazing as we saw many friends (most of whom do not attend church) at our time of worship on Sunday.  Our attendance was over 300, and what a great time of worship it was.  Now, if we would just make a note in our mind that every Sunday is Friend Day at Oasis, and worked as hard to invite as we did for this special event, I think we would continue to see amazing things in the lives of those we come in contact with.  (Not to mention our own)

We are continuing our series on “Don’t Travel Alone” this week.  This series takes us on a journey through Psalm 23.  This week Bro. Todd will be talking about contentment.  This is definitely something we as Americans struggle with don’t you think?  Most of us probably have more than we ever have before, but do you find yourself still wanting more?  This week our music deals with contentment as we proclaim that our God is everything we need.  We know that He will provide for us, and we put our trust in Him.  Check out the songs in the chart above to listen to the music and learn it before you even arrive on Sunday.

Thanks for checking out our blog.  I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday

Getting Ready for FRIEND DAY 2009

January 5, 2009

dont-travel-aloneJanuary 11th   Sermon “Who’s Leading You?”

We are all following someone. We are all being influence by someone’s opinion or philosophy on life. Whoever is leading you or influencing you will define your destiny. Today, we will consider what your life would look like if the Lord where your shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need” (NLT).
